World Wetlands Day 2026

LAWPRO’s Small Grants and Events Scheme is now open for applications related to World Wetlands Day 2026 only.

The application portal will remain open until Friday 6th February 2026 at 10pm. 

Applications should be less than €500.

You must contact your local Community Water Officer before making an application.

What is the Small Grants and Events Scheme?

The Small Grants and Events Scheme  is for community groups who wish to apply for funding for small scale initiatives and events outside of LAWPRO’s targeted open calls.

It covers events such as World Wetlands Day, Biodiversity Week, Science Week, etc. It may also be used for small awareness raising initiatives such as surveys and plans, citizen science, hosting a meeting, workshops, litter pick, publications, biodiversity signage, or other such small scale initiatives. Applications must have a water quality or water awareness focus.

• Contact your local Community Water Officer before making an application.
• Each application will be assessed based on its merits as it is submitted.
• There is no obligation on LAWPRO to request any outstanding or supporting information.
• Please read the Guidelines carefully before making an application.

Please do not use this application form to apply for events hosted during Heritage Week (August 16th to 24th 2025). A separate application process for Heritage Week grants will be advertised at a later date.
