Communities Caring for Water

Alongside The Rivers Trust, the Local Authority Waters Programme (LAWPRO) organises the Communities Caring for Water Conference as a platform to showcase successful projects and initiatives by energetic and ambitious groups across the country.

The conference features talks from community groups, experts and water quality advocates covering a number of different themes including:

• Climate Change and working with Nature
• Hydromorphology Pressures and Solutions
• Capacity Building in Community Groups
• The Importance of Public Participation

Supported by the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, the conference highlights the efforts made by communities to understand the challenges facing our local waterbodies and to take action to protect and improve our precious freshwater environment.
